Who are we?
Chipster is a small Rotterdam studio that turns real printed circuit boards into jewelry. Not prints of circuit boards, not resin casts of them - actual production-grade FR-4, with etched copper traces, lead-free finished pads and fine silkscreen markings. Every design starts in the studio as a real PCB layout - drawn trace by trace, the way working electronics are drawn - and is then produced in a genuine chip fab, on the same tooling and materials as production electronics. Back at the studio each board is finished, assembled into jewelry, checked and photographed piece by piece.
Our values
Material honesty first: what you wear is what the electronics industry actually makes. Real FR-4, real copper, a real lead-free finish - nothing plated to pretend, nothing printed to imitate. Precision second: circuit boards are drawn on a grid, routed at 45 degrees, checked to a tenth of a millimetre - and a real fab holds those tolerances better than any hand could. And honesty about the machine: these pieces are born on production tooling, and we think that is the point. The precision is the craft. Nothing is distressed or roughed up to look artisanal - a perfect board is the truest version of the material.
Our mission
Every device you own is built on geometry nobody was ever meant to see - copper traces threading between components, via rings, silkscreen labels, all of it sealed inside a case for the lifetime of the machine. Our mission is to bring that hidden landscape out and finish it to jewelry grade. A circuit board is the most carefully drawn object most people own and the least looked at; we think it deserves to be worn, not buried. If a piece of ours makes someone look twice at the inside of a machine, it has done its job.
